At New To Melbourne, you'll immediately feel the welcoming spirit of our community; our members are friendly, supportive, and eager to help newcomers. Bring a friend along and dive into an exciting language practice experience! Our gatherings are free and take place every Wednesday evening. Upon arrival, you’ll receive a badge indicating your native language and the languages you wish to learn. Wear it proudly on your chest with your native language on the right and your target languages on the left. Then, mingle and exchange languages!
What to bring: A pen, paper, and positive energy!

We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers who can assist in welcoming newcomers. In return, you’ll receive complimentary drinks and food (like pizza wedges) and the chance to connect with fellow volunteers. If it’s your first time attending, feel free to apply — many of our volunteers are newcomers too!
