Join us for the "Kings-Cross-Double-Bay-Rose-Bay-Watson-Bay - A Wickedly Wild Wacky Walk!" - a 12km adventure! Expect a lively group of 10 to 15 enthusiasts from various meetup communities to join this picturesque journey!
EXPLORE SYDNEY'S EAST SIDE - A BREATHTAKING HARBOUR ADVENTURE - Just in time, we've discovered hidden pathways that enhance this remarkable walk. Don’t let this opportunity pass you by; we all need a bit of exercise, and 12km is just the right distance!
KINGS CROSS MEETING POINT - A VIVIDLY SCENIC START - We’ll gather at Hungry Jack's Burgers, conveniently located next to the Kings Cross Station exit on Darlinghurst Street. Grab a coffee before we set off!
Let’s hit the road and stroll past the El Alamein Fountain, moving down Elizabeth Bay Road towards Rushcutters Bay Park, and then passing the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia.
We’ll glide past Sir David Martin Reserve and reach Yarranabbe Park. Continuing along Darling Point Road, we’ll descend the Marathon Steps to Steyne Park at Double Bay Ferry Wharf.
Double Bay beach strolls are brief, followed by a visit to the Sculpture Garden (a bit overgrown) for a rehydration stop. Next, we’ll head to Foster Park, then enjoy a quick loop around Murray Rose Pool at Seven Shillings Beach – a spot for a little fun!
Afterward, we’ll continue our trek towards Rose Bay Park and Bellamy Beach, stopping briefly at the Boathouse Rose Bay. We’ll stroll along the promenade to Lyle Park at Rose Bay Ferry, where you can opt to exit, or join us as we continue to Rose Bay Beach!
Experience the Hermitage Foreshore Walk, the most thrilling section adorned with lush rainforest and stunning views at every twist and turn. The route from Kings Cross to Watsons Bay may seem short on the map, but with its many ups, downs, and scenic detours, it’s much longer than it appears. We’ll pass Queens Beach, Hermit Beach, and Little Tingara Beach.
Next, we’ll traverse from Shark Point to Shark Beach at Neilson Park for a brief stop. Then, we’ll make our way to Vaucluse Park and Parsley Bay Reserve. Not far from Watsons Bay, we’ll take a well-deserved break before catching a ferry or bus back to Sydney.
Event Highlight: This is one of the most exhilarating and cherished walks around Sydney Harbour.
Gathering Location: Meet us at "Hungry Jack's" right next to the Kings Cross Station exit on Darlinghurst Road.
Total Distance: 12km
Difficulty Level: Moderate (considering distance, stairs, and bush areas), with many early exit options available.
